සියළුම රජයේ කාර්යාලයවල Finger Print යන්ත්‍ර සවිකිරීමට බලකරන ජනතා පෙත්සම

සෑම ශ්‍රී ලාංකිකයෙක්ම දන්න වේදනාව:

ඔබ රැකියාවෙන් නිවාඩු ගන්නවා. ඔබ උදේ 8.30 ට රජයේ කාර්යාලයකට යනවා. ඔබ දිගු පෝලිමක ඉන්නවා. 9.30 හෝ 10.00 ට පවා කවුන්ටර වසා දමා තිබෙනවා, කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය සැහැල්ලුවෙන් ඇතුළට එන්න පටන් ගන්නවා. ඔවුන් දැනටමත් දිවා ආහාරය සඳහා ඔවුන්ගේ බෑග් අසුරමින් සිටිනවා. ප.ව. 3 වන විට බොහෝ මේස හිස්.

ඇයි? බොහෝ රජයේ සේවකයින් පැමිණීමේ ලේඛනය වංචා කරන නිසා. ඔවුන් තම මිතුරන්ලවා පමිනීමටත් පෙර අත්සන් කිරීමට සලස්වනවා. ඔවුන් ප්‍රමාද වී එනවා. ඔවුන් නියමිත වේලාවට පෙර පිටත් වෙනවා. සමහරු නොපැමිණෙන නමුත් තවමත් ඔවුන්ගේ සම්පූර්ණ වැටුප ලබා ගන්නවා.

මේ මොහොතේ, තැපැල් සේවා සේවකයින් ඇඟිලි සලකුණු යන්ත්‍රවලට එරෙහිව විරෝධතා දක්වමින් සිටිනවා. අවංක සේවකයින්ට බිය වීමට හේතුවක් නැත. පද්ධතිය අනිසි ලෙස භාවිතා කරන අය පමණක් එයට එරෙහිව සටන් කරනවා.

මෙය කුඩා ප්‍රශ්නයක් නොවේ.

සෑම වසරකම වැඩ නොකරන පැය දහස් ගනනක් සඳහා රජයේ රුපියල් බිලියන ගණනක් නාස්ති වේ.

සාමාන්‍ය පුරවැසියන්ට මූලික සේවාවන් ලබා ගැනීමට උත්සාහ කිරීමෙන් ඔවුන්ගේ කාලය, ශක්තිය සහ මුදල් අහිමි වේ.

“රජයේ වැඩ“ කම්මැලිකමට සමාන පදයක් බවට පත්ව ඇති නිසා මුළු රටේම ඵලදායිතාවයට හානි සිදුවී ඇත.

පෞද්ගලික සමාගම් දැනටමත් ඇඟිලි සලකුණු යන්ත්‍ර භාවිතා කරයි. බැංකු ඒවා භාවිතා කරයි. පාසල් ඒවා භාවිතා කරයි. කුඩා ව්‍යාපාර පවා ඒවා භාවිතා කරයි. රජයේ සේවකයින් වගකීමට වඩා ඉහළින් සිටිය යුත්තේ ඇයි?

අපි ඉල්ලා සිටින්නේ:

• සියලුම රජයේ කාර්යාලවල ඇඟිලි සලකුණු යන්ත්‍ර ස්ථාපනය කිරීම.
• ව්‍යාජ අත්සන් වංචාවක් ලෙස සලකා දඬුවම් කිරීම.
• නියමිත වේලාවට තම රාජකාරිය කරන අවංක සේවකයින් හඳුනාගෙන ආරක්ෂා කිරීම.

මෙය සේවකයින්ට දඬුවම් කිරීම ගැන නොව මෙය රාජ්‍ය සේවය කෙරෙහි විශ්වාසය නැවත ඇති කිරීම ගැන ගැටළුවකි. වැටුප් ගෙවන ජනතාවට ගරු කරන රාජ්‍ය අංශයක් ශ්‍රී ලංකාවට ලැබිය යුතුය.

Request to Install Fingerprint Machines in All Government Offices

For decades, Sri Lankans have had to live with a bitter truth: many government offices open late, close early, and often fail to provide the services that the public desperately depends on. Behind the scenes, one of the biggest reasons is false attendance.

Right now, postal workers are protesting against fingerprint machines — the very tool that would stop these abuses. The reality is that many staff arrive late but sign in as “on time,” leave before office hours but still mark themselves present, or even ask colleagues to sign for them before they arrive. This is not unique to the postal service. It happens in ministries, provincial councils, divisional secretariats, hospitals, municipal councils, and nearly every corner of government service.

Who suffers? The people. Letters pile up. Grama Sevaka offices stay closed when citizens travel hours to get documents. Patients wait for doctors who come late. Taxpayers — already burdened with rising costs — are forced to pay full salaries for half-done work.

The truth is shocking: Sri Lanka spends billions on public sector wages each year. Every wasted hour is money stolen from the people. Every fake signature is an insult to the taxpayer.

Private companies across the country already use fingerprint or biometric systems. Honest employees accept it — because they have nothing to hide. Only those misusing the system oppose it.

We demand fingerprint machines in all government offices. No exceptions. No more excuses. Honest workers should be proud to stand behind transparency. It is time the public sector showed the same discipline expected from the private sector.
