Request to Strengthen President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s Security

ශ්‍රී ලංකාව මේ මොහොතේ ඉතිහාසගත පරිවර්ථනයක් අත්විඳිමින් සිටී. දශක ගණනාවක් රටේ සම්පත් සොරකම් කළ, බලය තමන්ගේ පවුල් සතු කරගත්, සංවිධානාත්මක අපරාධකරුවන් හා පාතාලයත් සමග බැඳුණු දේශපාලන නායකයින් දැන් නීතියට හසුවෙමින් සිටී.

අතිතයේදී “ අත තැබීමට නොහැකි ” යැයි සිතූ අමාත්‍යවරුන් අද අසරණවී සිටී. විදේශයන්හි සැඟව සිටි පාතාල නායකයන් අල්ලගෙන ලංකාවට ගෙන ඒම ඉතා කඩිනමින් සිදුවේ. ඔවුන්ගෙන් බොහෝ දෙනා හිටපු දේශපාලන නායකයන් සමග සම්බන්ධවූ බවට වාර්තා ඇත. මේ නිසා දශක ගණනාවක් තම අනසැක පැතිරූ “පවුල් පන්තිය” දැන් මුළුමනින්ම නීතියට හසු වෙමින් සිටී.

තම බලය අහිමිවූ හා පෙර වැරදි හේතුවෙන් පවුල් පිටින් හිරබත් කෑමට බිය වැදී සිටින සොරුන් හා මිනී මරුවන් ගැලවීමට මගක් සොයමින් සිටී.

ජනාධිපති අනුර කුමාර මහතාගෙන් කිසිදු සමාවක් නොලැබෙන බැවින් ඔවුන්ගේ ගැලවීමට එතුමා කුමන හෝ ක්‍රමයකට පුටුවෙන් ඉවත්කලයුතු තැනට පත්ව ඇත.

ජනතාවගේ අසීමිත ආදරයට හා ආශිර්වාදයට ලක්ව අති ජනාධිපතිවරයා නීත්‍යානුකූලව ඉවත්කල නොහැකි බව දන්නා දූෂිතයන්ට ඉතිරිව ඇත්තේ ප්‍රචණ්ඩත්වය පමණි.

බූරුවෙක් රජ කිරීමට පල්ලි වලට බෝම්බ ගැසූ, මැතිවරණ දිනීමට ත්‍රස්තවාදීන්ට මුදල් ගෙවූ පාපතරයන්ට අනුර කුමාර ජනාධිපතිවරයා වෙනුවෙන් එක් උණ්ඩයක් වියදම් කිරීම මාහා ලොකු වැඩක් නොවන බව අපගේ සැකයයි.

එහෙත් මේ සියල්ල සිදුවන අතර, ජනාධිපතිවරයා ඉතා කුඩා ආරක්ෂාවක් සමඟින් රට පුරා ගමන් කරමින් සිටී. ඔහු මෙලෙස ආරක්ෂාවට බදු මුදල් වියදම් නොකරන්නේ ජනතාව ගැන සිතා බව අප හොද ආකාරව දනිමු.

තම පැවැත්ම රැකගැනීමට ජනාධිපතිවරයා හා වයිර බැඳ ඔහුගේ ජීවතයට හානියක් කිරීමට ඔවුන් කුරුමානම් අල්ලමින් සිටින මොහොතක, ජනාධිපතිවරයා මුදල් ඉතිරි කිරීමට ඉතා අඩු ආරක්ශාවක් පාවිච්චි කිරීමට අප තරයේ විරෝධතාවය ප්‍රකාශකර සිටිමු.

ජනාධිපතිතුමාගේ ජීවිතයට හානියක් වුවහොත්, එය තවත් එක් පුද්ගලික සිද්ධියක් නොව, එය රටේම අනාගතය බිඳ වැටෙන හේතුව වනු නොඅනුමානයි.

දූෂිත පන්තිය නැවතත් බලයට පැමිණෙයි.

එබැවින්, අපේ ඉල්ලීම පැහැදිලිය:

• ජනපති ආරක්ෂාව පිළිබඳ නව වෘත්තීයමය සමාලෝචනයක් සිදුකිරීම .
• අවශ්‍ය ආරක්ෂක කණ්ඩායම් සහ නවීන උපකරණ යොදා ප්‍රමාණවත් ආරක්ශාවක් සැපයීම. (උදා : දුරින් උස් ස්ථානවල සැඟව සිටින ස්නිපර් වෙඩි කරුවන් හඳුනාගැනීමට ඩ්‍රෝන යානා බාවිතය)
• එලිමහන් පීඨිකාවල ජනතාව සමග සම්බන්ධවීම අත්‍යාවශයම කාරණාවලට පමනක් සීමාකර ආරක්ෂාව තහවුරු කිරීම.
• අඩු පිරිවැයක් පවත්වාගැනීම ජනාධිපතිවරයාගේ ආරකශාවට සම්බන්ධ නොකිරීම.

කුඩු, මත්ද්‍රව්‍ය කරමාන්ත ශාලා තුළින් තවත් හයිටියක් වීමට ගිය මවුබිම, දරුවන් වෙනුවෙන් ආරක්ෂා කිරීමට මිනීමරුවන් සමග සටන් කරන අපේ නායකයා රැක ගැනීමට පහත පෙත්සම අත්සන් කරන්න.

Sri Lanka is living through a moment of transformation. For decades, corrupt politicians, their families, and underworld leaders looted our resources, divided our people, and ruled without accountability. But now, under the new President, the tide has finally turned.

In just a few short months, arrests have shaken the political and criminal elite. Former ministers who thought they were untouchable are facing investigations. Entire families who built dynasties on corruption are preparing for courtrooms instead of boardrooms. Just last month, five notorious underworld leaders were arrested overseas and flown back from Indonesia to face justice on Sri Lankan soil. For the first time in living memory, the entire corrupt class has no escape. Their networks are collapsing. Their political shields are gone. Their money is being tracked. They are cornered — and they know it.

Today, the President is traveling across the country with minimal security and smaller convoys. He has made this choice to save public funds and to show the people he is not a distant ruler surrounded by walls of protection. This humility and closeness has earned admiration from many.

But it has also created a dangerous gap. The President is at his most exposed at the very moment when powerful enemies are at their most desperate. If anything were to happen to him, it would not just be a tragedy for one man — it would be a catastrophe for the nation.

1. A professional review of the President’s security to identify risks.
2. Deployment of adequate protective teams and technology, balancing efficiency with safety.
3. Restoration of a reasonable convoy system — leaner than the past, but strong enough to deter threats.
4. Clear protective protocols that allow the President to stay close to the people, but without exposing himself to danger.

Sri Lanka has come too far to fall back now. Protecting the President means protecting the future of justice, accountability, and democracy in our country.
